Brenda also has a keen interest in supporting women with Diabetes in Pregnancy which she developed during her own very challenging pregnancies. She is well researched on the latest research in Gestational Diabetes and has a special interest in preventing type 2 diabetes after a GDM diagnosis.

Brenda prides herself on delivering education which is patient centered, prioritised and supportive. She is passionate about supporting individuals with diabetes to create a vision for their diabetes and achieve their health goals.

Brenda firmly believes that behaviour change is heavily reliant on shifting mindset. In her nursing/diabetes educator career, she has found that often times it’s not a lack of knowledge that holds people back from making change- they know what TO do, but can’t seem to consistently implement the lifestyle changes that they need to to improve their overall health.

Brenda has also experienced this when trying to make change in her own life. She stumbled across Hypnosis and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) through a transformational coach, and made profound changes in her life. This led her to study both these modalities, and implement NLP into her practice- combining diabetes education and hypnotherapy/mindset coaching. She has also completed an Advanced Certificate in Nutritional Counseling through the Health Academy of Australia, to further her nutritional knowledge as this is an integral part of diabetes education.
